Year 11 Exam Information

The Department for Education today (3rd April 2020) published details of how students who were expecting to sit public exams this summer will be awarded grades. Please click here for the government's communication and here for Mr Elliott's summary.

It is important to note that the school must not communicate in any way with parents or students about the grades awarded to students. Please help them to maintain this professional expectation by directing all questions to Mr Elliott at nelliott@matthew-arnold.surrey.sch.uk

What is very clear is that students do not need to submit any more work in order to receive a grade - gradings will be made in part based on teacher knowledge of students' abilities and work levels. The home learning programme for Year 11 students will look very different after the Easter holidays. It will comprise a mix of careers-based activities, professional skills advice and pre-learning from colleges and schools for whatever students intend to do next.

For students who are keen to take actual exams, however, either in the autumn or next summer, it will be very important to maintain a strong revision routine. The booklet below should be already be very familiar. Subject teachers will be very happy to help you with revision techniques and look at work you are doing.
