Year 9 Football

Posted on: 23/03/2023

More sporting success for our boys football team! It was the turn of the Year 9s today after the Year 8 masterclass yesterday.

The boys were highly motivated for the game as Bishop Wand were highly fancied in the district to win. Continuous rain throughout made for a gritty game and the boys stepped up to the occasion for the supportive sideline.

Vinnie S set the tone the entire game and put us into an early lead with a free kick into the top corner. We doubled the advantage before half-time and went into the break comfortable. The visitors pulled an early second half goal back from a corner and Matthew Arnold had to step up and show some resilience.

The 2 goal cushion was restored not too long after, before a fourth and fifth goal was added to put an exclamation point on an emphatic performance and our biggest win at home, 5-1.

Kye P got at least 2 and Vinnie the first. (There were so many goals, Mr Howes will get the confirmation on who scored next)
