About us

The West Molesey Centre is a specialist provision for children with an Education and Health Care Plan with a primary diagnosis of Autism.

Initially providing a reduced number of places, the centre has been designed to accommodate up to 50 children from age 11 within a bespoke learning and social setting prioritising emotional wellbeing and the development of social understanding as part of the full curriculum experience.

Children at the centre benefit from class sizes of no more than 8 and most importantly a focus by centre staff to create the right learning environment for each child - a narrative that runs throughout the day, whether in class or breakout areas, one-to-one sessions with a teacher or teaching assistant, or having lunch and at play times.

Located on Hurst Road in West Molesey, the centre offers excellent facilities which include a large main building and two outer buildings surrounded by a large amount of outside space backing on to the River Thames.

The main building hosts seven classrooms, each having their own breakout area and direct access to the outside space.  In addition their are several specialist rooms to enable learning in subjects like technology and science, a multi-purpose hall which acts as a social area, dining area, assembly and PE space, a servery, a sensory room and bespoke outdoor gym area as well as a number of offices, a staffroom and a couple of meeting rooms.

The centre's extensive grounds also include an enormous playing field, a basketball court, a large playground and plenty of areas where are students can play or just sit and talk to each other.
