Youth Speaks Success

On Tuesday 20th February Lily Blakemore, Neve Crossley and Anoushka Vail from Year 9 took part in the District Semi-Final of the Rotary Youth Speaks Competition. Their topic of ‘Skinny Shaming’ informed, entertained and enlightened the judges so much that they came away as overall winners, beating four other schools from the district. Not only did they win overall best team but they also all came away with individual prizes for their category. The girls are continuing in a long line of success that the school has had with the Youth Speaks and other competitions run by the Rotary Club. Well done to the girls and to Miss Lockhart on a tremendous achievement. We are all looking forward to the District Final on 10th March.

We are delighted to work so closely with Staines Rotary Club. Not only do they encourage our participations in competitions such as the Youth Speaks and Young Writers, they also support our thriving Interact Club in the school and sponsor Year 11 students for the Rotary Youth Leaders Award every Spring.
