Home Learning Years 7 - 10
The majority of students will not be in school for the foreseeable future. The government has stressed the importance of children remaining at home to continue their studies as far as possible and not to go out to meet friends which dramatically increases the risk of the virus spreading.
All students are being set work to do on Show My Homework. In theory they are able to replicate the school day by following their school timetable and finding the work set for them to do during that hour.
Parents will receive emails from their child's form tutor once a week giving them the opportunity to feed back on their child's wellbeing, the amount and quality of work being set, and any obstacles they are experiencing as we all come to terms with the reality of education in the shadow of the coronavirus.
A guide to home learning was sent to parents last week and can be accessed by clicking the link below:
However, it is just as important that children spend some time acclimatising to this dramatic change in their lives, and my priority is with their wellbeing. Please encourage them to get into sensible working routines, but do not allow them to become overwhelmed by the amount of work being set. We are all adjusting to this new way of working, and students are not going to get into trouble if they do not make deadlines in this adjustment period.
Please look at the Wellbeing page under this tab for ideas on supporting your child and keeping them physically fit and emotionally strong during these difficult times.
