Most improved School in the Country in January 2008

The DCFS announced that we were The Most Improved School 2004 - 2007 for 5 A* - C at GCSE, including English and Maths.  Ofsted in January 2008 judged many areas as “outstanding” and the school “good” overall.   The Specialist School's and Academies Trust (SSAT) have commended us for our success at improving year on year from 2005- 2008 by 10% points or more for 5+ A* - C including English and Maths which reflects our drive for continuous improvement.

In 2009 results were 67% 5+ A*- C, the same as in 2007 when we gained "Most Improved School" and similar to 2008. The number of students gaining 5+ A*- C with functional English and Maths is 57%; excellent for all concerned.  This shows that we are able to sustain and improve on a high level of achievement, above the national average. We could not have gained such success without working as a team. Thank you – staff, governors, community links and of course our parents.
